September 18, 2011 ( birthday party)
Evan had an amazing pirate bash for his second birthday!
We hosted it at the house, Auntie Tarie and Grammie spent lots of time helping Mommy clean and cook up a taco bar before the party, Poppie cleared up the garbage disposal and tied balloons, Nana and Pa helped decorate, daddy hung the pinata with Pa's help, it was definately a team effort!!!
And the party went great! Evan was the no nap kid. I laid him down for a nap around 10am, vacuumed the downstairs and when I turned off the vacuum, Evan was crying loudly saying mamamama, so I thought he needed a diaper change and went in to check on him, he was fine, he just wanted to come and play, so I brought him down to give him a snack and by that time Grammie, Poppie, and Aunite Tarie arrived and then there was no nap because he didn't want to miss out on any of the fun!!!
The first thing was Evan could not believe his Uncle Austin was wearing a wig!! He gave him the funniest look! The first thing everyone did was eat! The taco bar was a big hit! Then it was pinata time, which was a little tricky since it wouldn't open up, so I shook it and that scared one of Evan's little friends and there was lots of crying, it was not the exciting rush for m&ms I had pictured, oh well. Then my Aunt Joni did hand paint on the kids hands and Evan got two spiders! Then it was time for cake and presents!
By the time we got to presents Evan was pretty beat, but he opened them up pretty good. We had to keep him unwrapping so we could get thru them all. He got a lot of good loot! He is one lucky little dude, that is for sure!
After everyone left we gave him a pb&j dinner, watched some of The Cars Disney movie and it was off to an early bedtime at 6:30pm! And believe it or not, Evan did not want to be woken up when I went into his room the nest morning at 7:15am.
