Happy Birthday to Evan! This Thursday he turned 13 weeks old as well as 3 months old (we count it as the 17th of every month).
For 4 out of 5 nights this week Evan has slept thru the night! Every morning I would wake up and hit Dan and say, "He made it!" I can't believe it, just in total awe of my little boo-bear. No one asked him to do it, I didn't even dare hope for it. On those nights I kinda miss our quiet little 3am nursing/cuddling and I even miss watching the Rosanne reruns on nick at nite too (and I hate that show). On the nights he wakes up for a snack I now treasure our extra alone time together, I don't know how much longer it will last.
I think about the day my water broke all the time, pretty much daily. I think it was the most exciting day ever. I had no clue then how wonderfully fulfilling being a mother was going to be. There are a lot of things no one can put into words about what becoming mom means and then there are other things that moms keep a secret and only share with a knowing smile.... Everyday I look at Evan, and I say to him, I can't believe you are who was in there (in my belly). I just can't wait to watch his personality develop into the man he is going to become. Being a mom is the bestest most fun thing ever, especially with a son as perfect as my little Evan. I heart Evan forever.
Evan is a TV watching fool, I call him this affectionately, but he just loves TV! He probably watches about 15-20 minutes of TV a day. I put on Sprout or NickJr for him and he will watch the shows and point at the TV sometimes. It's really cute actually. I had no idea he would have such an attention span to sit and watch something this little. I am going to order the My Baby Can Read DVDs soon.

Evan is slowly starting to reach for things a little more and is able to hold on for a few seconds to stuff, here is a video of him and his rattle-that he was tasting.
On Sunday Dan and I went Christmas shopping for Evan at BuyBuyBaby. We got him some good loot and his stocking is overflowing now. He slept thru the whole thing and has no idea we even went shopping, lol. Then later on in the evening we went out to dinner at Roadhouse with Billy & Deb. Ev's second restaurant experience, we brought his whole stroller in this time, and he did pretty well. I held him a lot though. It was so cold, the coldest night we've had in a long time. Brrrr!- Ev was bundled up in a sweater Grammie crocheted for him. If only strangers would stop touching his hands. Geez! He puts his hands in his mouth!-leave his little clean baby hands alone.
And guess what? Santa actually dropped off one of Evan's present early on Monday night! So we opened it and let Ev play with it already....It's a My Pal Scout LeapFrog dog, it can say Evan's name (not very well I might add) and it says his favorite color is green, it sings songs, and gets the hicups too!
