January 7- January 13
So.... sleeping in his own room didn't last more than two nights, it has been so cold here in South Florida recently, like dropping into the thritys at night. Since I really bundle Ev in a lot of blankets I prefer him to be next to me in the pacnplay so that I can wake up and check him to make sure nothing has crept up and covered face or in case he wriggles down inside his little buritto I swaddle him in. We'll try the crib thing again when it warms up, Evan didn't notice a difference of where he was sleeping -only mommy. And I hate sleeping alone in our bedroom when Dan has to work. The dogs in their crate and Ev off in his own room, I can't stand it!!! I get too lonely! I guess I am the one not quite ready for Ev to sleep in his own crib. He sleeps 8-9 hours every night consistently now.
I finally convinced daddy to turn on the heat on Thursday! whoo-hoo! It was smelly at first, but now it is nice and toasty. I think Evan will be a little Florida boy like us and hate the cold weather. We could never live up north, brrrrr!
This weekend I took some photos of Evan with new black and white felt backgrounds I bought at Joann fabrics. Auntie Tarie came over to help me take the photos, so funny, we used the peepeetees that Nana bought and of course Ev peed. It didn't occur to me that the peepeetee only keeps the pee from shooting at you, it doesn't actually absorb the pee, he peed all over my bed, silly mommy! We had a blast doing photos though! He kept kicking the peepeetee off though, which made it even funnier of a production.
I am working on designing and ordering his baptism invitations. Grammie is hard at work sewing Evan's special gown. We modified the pattern that my gown was sewn from to be a little more "boyish" and we picked out a beautiful white fabric with lace edging and white ribbon and it will have Evan Daniel embroided on it along the bottom. We went shopping last weekend together for the supplies, Grammie bought all the stuff for Evan's gown, it is really special that it will be homemade. I am so excited to see the finished product!
Also my friend shared with me this awesome website. And I am in love with all the designs so much that I can't even pick which one I would want to order. I love-love my "E" necklace my friend Jenny gave me for Christmas, I haven't taken it off since I put it on. I think it would be cool to add his name and birthstone to the "E" too, so we'll see.
I am really impressed about how Ev plays with his new toy Scout. All I have to do is bring it out and show it to him and he will start smiling. I go "who is this?" and Evan gets the hugest smile on his face. I'm kinda jealous Scout gets all the good smiles! It's amazing he remembers this TOY, I think he likes Scout's kid-like voice, he tries to "talk" back, it's really adorable to watch him interact with a talking stuffed animal. Best $10 I've spent in a long time!
Also Evan giggles a little when you tickle him now, especially if you tickle his chest and neck. His little laughs are so quiet and cute! Here is a video from our gigglefest on Saturday night. We completely lost power for 45 minutes or so. I ran and lit like 6 candles, got us all ready for bed and of course then the power came back on, so we sat in bed anyways and it was past Ev's bedtime so we decided to giggle ourselves to sleep. :-)
Sunday morning we went to Barnes & Noble for a family outing, it was frrreezing out (brrr), Ev was snuggled up in his moby wrap. And we had breakfast and hot tea there then we moseyed around browsing. I get very self-conscious wearing Ev in his moby wrap, people always either comment on it or they will just STARE at us. Okay people, I know Evan is the cutest baby you have ever seen, but do you have to be so obvious about it, LOL!
Monday night I got home from work and Ev was fast asleep....
