25 weeks old

March 11- March 17

Evan chillin' in a big ole pile of clean laundry! Mommy had some folding to do!

Evan's first tastes of rice cereal video!

The rice cereal was a hit!!! We had so much fun. Daddy and Mommy gave him a bit on Friday night really-really watered down, and he seemed okay about it but was kinda cranky. Then on Saturday morning Poppie and Grammie came over and he got rice cereal for breakfast. I made it a little thicker this time, stays on the spoon much better! And Evan ate quite a bit, I would say about 10 or so bites. We fed him at the table in his chair that is hooked onto the table. Then for dinner Saturday evening I fed Evan in the infant seat/stroller in the kitchen and it was so much easier!!! (he hasn't mastered sitting up yet and is a bit wobbly in his table chair). He ate better too in the stroller and was opening his mouth for more like a baby bird. He likes to hold onto the bowl too while he eats. He also was taking sips of water from his cup with no lid like a big boy. I held it for him and poured the water into his mouth and he swallowed it like a champ! I would be like two bites of cereal, mouth wipe, sip of water. Nothing much came back out, he made a little mess holding onto the bowl with his sticky fingers, but other than that he was pretty clean. We delayed Evan in starting his solids until he was 6 months, which he is turning on Wednesday March 17th. I think it was the right decision and made sense for us, since Evan really had no issues and no reason to start it earlier. Evan is growing up so much and so fast! Oh Gosh! I am so-so proud of him! I can't wait to feed him again! And we are looking forward to babyfood in a few weeks too!

The Before!

The After! ~ Just a funny note that Scout fell over before Evan did! Haha!

New things from this week are that I am showing Evan this little sign I do for "I Love You", where I point to my eye, then make a heart with my hands, and then point at him. He thinks it is the best and smiles so big when Dan or I make the hand motions. It is really cute! I had a dream on Friday night that he signed it back to me and it was adorable, his little finger pointed out at me at the end and I was like awwww. I wish!! We also play pat-a-cake, pat-a-cake together now, he likes the patting part.
