35 weeks old

May 20- May 26

We went to St. Augustine on Thursday. Brenda and Pablo chose to get married in St. Augustine, and it worked out perfectly for us because that is where my best friend and her hubby live, so we got to spend time with them too. It was a long drive, almost 5 hours in the car. Dan drove and me and Evan sat in the backseat together. I entertained Evan, fed him lunch, he took a little nap, and finally we were there! We checked into our hotel, which was great, we stayed at the Castilla Real on the beach. One tiny hiccup was I totally just assumed it would have a bathtub, but it was standup shower only. The huge bed was a big hit with Evan, he thought he was King of the Bed. Funny story about the shower, twice when I gave Evan his shower he fell asleep during it!!! Who would have thought?!? I was shampooing his hair and getting soap all over his face to wash his face, he usually cries during this part even in a bath, and not a peep. I rinsed him off in the shower, not a peep. I was holding him so it was a little hard for me to tell, but I called to Dan to come look, and yup, he had fallen asleep. So precious, we really wore him out this trip. Nap times were all too short, eating times were all a little off, Evan did really great though all things considered.

Well right after we checked in we went to meet Ali and Jay at their new house they are currently renovating. Evan saw a cat and some chickens outside. After our tour we drove to a big wildflower field and Ali took family photos of us while Jay shot some video. Then we all went to Carrabbas for dinner.

photos from Alison (we heart them!):

I love this one so much!!! Evan loves petting daddy's head, he thinks it is so funny!

All our hands. My rings still don't fit me and Dan didn't bring his band on this trip, so we are ringless, oh well!
This photo is one of my favorites. I like how candid it is.

Here is us on the beach on Friday morning. We headed down for a walk on the beach after breakfast. We ate at the hotel restaurant and me and Evan had delicious banana pancakes and Evan shared eggs with daddy. I think he likes the beach, somewhat, as much as you can like getting sandy and wet.

And then after the beach, Evan went down for a nappy and I went and took photos of Ali and Jay at their new house and then Ali came over to swim in the pool with us. I forgot to get a photo of her and Evan though :-( booo!

Here is Evan on Friday night in his stroller at Brenda and Pablo's wedding. He was all smiles until about the time we sat down to eat and then he got cranky. He must have remembered we woke him up from his delightful afternoon nap to put him in the car and go.
of course woof-woof came too!

Miss Brenda got married!

On Sunday me and Evan went over to Grammie's house to say bye-bye to Aunt Pat and Uncle Bill, they all got home safe and sound from the Bahamas but then had to leave to go home to Ohio. Grammie bought Evan some souvenirs, a turtle book and stuffed animal, both of which he loved, he hugged the stuffed animal right away with a big smile.

Evan and his straw cup which he figured out this weekend! He has been using a regular sippy for awhile (he doesn't get the tilt back concept though), our pedi recommended the straw cup for him, it is better for his teeth and speech development.

We were robe buddies after swimming in the pool on Wednesday night.
