July 8 - July 14
On Saturday we went to Splash Adventure at Quiet Water Park. We arrived mid-session and had 50 minutes to play, so I only grabbed one quick shot as we were leaving. Evan is eating a snack of puff chips. And behind us the play place is empty because they blew the whistle and everyone had to get out while they switch sessions. This park only does 2 hour sessions. Evan loved the shallow water, he could crawl in it easily, but he wanted to crawl out of it to explore too. He also really like standing up next to this waterfall-ish thingy, and we put him down the smallest slide a few times. We definately will keep going back, it is close by our house and not that expensive ($4.50 a person).
Here is Evan playing with the dog's bowls! This is from Sunday morning....And you kinda see how he moves in a circle on his butt in this video. Evan also knows his name now! He will look at you when you say "Evan"-most of the time. Of course he chooses to ignore us sometimes too....
On Sunday Evan had a play date with Ella and Auntie Tarie and Uncle Austin. Right during both of the E's naptimes. (Tara babysits Ella on Sunday mornings) So we made them go to the beach and pool instead of napping, they weren't too happy about that. Uncle Austin had to drag the strollers thru the sand for us, we promised, we wouldn't try to do a playdate at the beach again....not walking with strollers anyways. Evan actually fell asleep as I was carrying him! Such a silly boy! Then he popped up 10 minutes later all refreshed!
The water was like glass!!! So BEAUTIFUL!!!!

Sunday afternoon we stopped in and surprised Evan's great-grandparents!!! They were indeed surprised and had fun visiting with Evan, he has definitely grown since they last saw him on Easter! Big boy now!
Sunday evening we took photos of Evan. A redo shoot from his 9 month old photos, and my friend Jenny had 9 month photos done of her son and they came so cute I wanted to make sure I did Evan's again too! Aunt Tarie came with us to help make Evan laugh and take photos of us together! Oinking like a pig, peekaboo, and sneezing ah-choo are the only things that make Evan smile.....We went to this church down the street from our house that has a brick wall.

I like this one, Evan in the lime green bucket!

Aunt Tara took these ones of mommy and Evan. Look, I have my rings on! Yay!!!

Then we drove 2 minutes up the road to the Butler House and Evan fell asleep in the car!!! We were all dressed and everything and going home to eat dinner and do bathtime afterwards, so we woke him up for a few more photos! Sorry Evan!
and back to happy!

this photo cracks me up!!! not only does he have a a double chin, he also a shark fin for hair! LOL!

Evan hugging my head after pulling out my hair hanging onto me as if I were a pony!
And here is Evan eating dinner on Sunday evening. A big nice Hawaiian roll. This is second one, the first one he fed to Rusty. Woof!
Evan is getting braver, faster and more independent by the minute. Every time you put him down he crawls so fast and makes a beeline for either the bathroom or the dogs bowls...lol. I put him in his room to play this weekend and went to our bedroom next door to get ready and I hear this clinking, clink sound. And I thought to myself what is that noise, so I went out to look for Evan and he was in the bathroom playing with the cap that covers the toilet screw! Dropping it and picking it up again. He is so silly! And even though he is becoming so good a getting around, he is still Mr. Accident, and has like 3-10 minor boo-boos a day, anything from falling face first from sitting or crawling into the tile, to bumping his head on the coffee table. He'd have to live in a rubber house to not get hurt, and even then...well I'm sure he'd find something to get hurt on.
Every morning going into Evan's room, opening his door, scooping him up into my arms, is like getting a present everyday. His laughter and chit chat are so precious! I always say Evan is the greatest gift I have ever gotten. He is the bestest. We call him our bestie!
Evan loves to look at photos on the wall. We point and we say, that's baby Evan, or the mommy & daddy! He can go from crying to smiling in one second if you bring him next to a photo frame!!! And Dan made me this super cool circle frame this week! I saw one on esty.com and I loved it!
Evan is doing amazingly on table food. He is almost all table food, like 90% I would say. He still gets "baby food" sometimes. I would say right now that watermelon is his favorite food, but it is hard to tell when he shoves everything in with equal enthusiasm.
