August 31 - September 6
Friday was hectic, I took off work to work some more! but we did get Wendys for dinner.
Saturday was a beachy afternoon. And Amelia's first "real" trip to the beach, she put her toes in the sand and went for a dip in the ocean!!! :-) Dan was working on the beach so we got to visit him too. Gran -Gran, Pop-Pop, & Auntie Tara kept Evan pretty busy wave hopping and looking for fish. Evan loved the beach. His face was just darling because his eyes were all lit up and happy! Afterwards we went for dinner at Gran-gran's house and had pot roast.
Sunday was Pa's birthday, so we all went to Carrabbas for dinner and then back to Nana's for dessert and tea.
Amelia was a bit cranky at the restaurant, I took her outside before she could meltdown. Amelia is such a little rolly-polly girl now. It doesn't hurt she is like a little barrell, she can't help but roll. She makes me nervous though, she loves to flip onto her stomach but she hasn't figured out how to get her arms back into a position to push herself back over again. She is sleeping in our room still next to my bed.
Monday, Amelia and I went grocery shopping in the morning. She actually fell asleep in her moby this trip!
Evan ran errands with daddy. He revolted against his nap, so we gave up. We were supposed to have a pool play date with the neighbors at 4pm. So we were patiently waiting and finally I gave up and decided to take Evan up to the big pool, we stopped and knocked on their door, but the girls were still asleep and they did not come up to the pool with us. Evan had fun at the pool anyway and he worked up a great appetite and downed a turkey wrap, half a bowl of white rice, and a slice of watermelon for dinner!
Thursday Amelia went to the doctors for two more shots. :-( She weighed 17 lbs! And she let out the most blood curdling scream of pain when they did her shots, my poor little girl! She rarely cries, so it was so sad to hear. After the doctors, I took Evan and Amelia to Sugarsand Park. Evan had a blast of course. And Amelia got to go on her first carousel ride. Last time we were at the park (last month) she was sleeping in her stroller, so I left the stroller parked with my purse and bags and everything and went on it with just Evan. I had nightmares for weeks afterwards of someone stealing Amelia though, so I did not want to leave her ever again. Sometimes managing two kids can be tricky and figuring how to do stuff with both has been an adjustment. I was saying to Danny..when you have two the worry multiplies as much as the love does. I am filled with worry all the time for my kiddos and not only them, but I also worry about myself and Dan too, because the kids NEED us. It is a lot of worrying, but I feel like it does help me take precautions to keep everyone safe. We try our best but Evan's tattoo still haunts us and our house is not as child proof as we would like.
