Updates:
We went to the pool with Isabelle and Katherine twice this week! Evan enjoys playing with the girls.
Updates:
Amelia - At this age is very different from Evan. She is very rolly-polly, I call her my barrel She sleeps very well. She sleeps on her stomach though, since she learned how to roll over I just let her do her own thing in her crib. So every night she sleeps on her belly with her fingers in her mouth. I like that she can put herself to sleep, whether she is awake or asleep - 8:30pm is bedtime for both kiddos. Amelia loves sucking on her fingers or thumb, I think her teeth are coming in, hopefully soon so she can get some relief. Evan had two teeth by this age and a lot of hair, enough to make a fo'hawk, Amelia is a baldie with no teeth! She still almost never cries, she actually has three fairly distinct cries that she only uses when she has to (pain, sleepiness, and a hey you one I am bored). She is also very "handsy", she loves grabbing at everything and holding things. And like I mentioned she is becoming quite the thumbsucker, which is different because Evan never took to that. One day I was carrying the mail upstairs and Amelia grabbed an envelope, I put her on the bed and forgot she had it and when I turned around she had chewed on it like a little hamster!
Evan- This week we organized his bedroom to hopefully have less clutter and feel less overwhelming. I have been reading parenting books like a madwoman trying to make sure I am doing everything "right". It is making me a little nutty, but is making me much more conscientious of how Evan and I are interacting. He started saying some things that were not very nice to me and purposefully try to anger me or do things I disapprove of. Typical 3 year old stuff I guess, but seemed to run deeper, especially when he said he was going to lock me in his bedroom because he doesn't love me anymore. I know he doesn't mean it towards me, but maybe that is how he felt when we did have to use the lock on his door, it just made me very sad. Most of the time though Evan is a sweetheart, he loves hugging and is still a very clingy mama's boy. We made Popsicles together on Thursday and he was thrilled. I got out all the pieces, and he dumped them out on the table and was like, mom look!, he had them all put together standing up in their tray, without me even telling him or showing him how to do it. He is very bright and imaginative. Some of his favorite toys are not even toys at all. Amelia got a crib bumper in the mail and Evan spent about a half hour in her crib playing with it (untied) creating an intricate maze with little cubby holes for each of his stuffed animals.
