One Year Old

September 17 - September 23

Ok, so I caved already, I have to post weekly, it is a habit/mild obsession now. They will just start on Friday now since his birthday fell on a Friday this year (he was born a Thursday).

This week seems short, because I made so many separate posts for his birthday celebrations.

Here is Evan hanging out with his Poppie on Saturday night, he got to open a present early before his party (on Sunday). We went over to Grammie's house to pick her up and go party grocery shopping and decorate birthday cupcakes. But after dinner it was bedtime for Evan and he was very confused as to why we were not at home and didn't want to sleep in his pacnplay. I tried to put him in it for a minute and he made himself sick, so we had to leave and Grammie and Auntie Tarie decorated the cupcakes without mommy's help.

Evan took off walking on Tuesday 9-21-10, only a few days after his first birthday! I can't believe it! Over the weekend he was doing 1 or 2 steps, now is it like 5 or 6, so this totally counts as walking to us!!! Go Evan!!! Ahhhh!!! I clapped for him and said yay!!! But he just looked at me liek it was no big thing! When I got him home around 6pm I was standing at the sink putting dirty stuff in the sink and saw his little head go by on the other side of the counter, and I was surprised! So I decided to keep my camera next to me when I was making dinner in the kitchen just in case! Good thing I did, he was walking all over the place!

(p.s. yes he is totally shaking mozarella cheese at Rusty, which he went and got out of the fridge, who knows why-LOL)

Here is Evan in his new-to-him blue push car! You might remember he rode the pink one at toyrus a while back and then when Dan and I went to toyrus on Friday he tried it out again (a blue one), but they didn't have one to buy, so I found a gently used one to buy on craigslist. We went and picked it up on Wednesday evening. It is super nice and even has a cup holder! I meet the nicest people on craigslist, I always say that and it is so true! Here are some photos of Evan from Wednesday, we took it for a spin around the block and then I wheeled him to the backyard for photos. You would never know that I had terribly pinched his leg in his car seat by accident. Usually he wears pants or shorts when we go places, but I had him in a onesie and his chubby leg fat got pinched, I felt so bad. I called Dan and told him what an awful mother I am, after I pulled over and jumped out realizing my cell phone was still on the roof of my car. Yiyiyi, and then also when I went to hand the girl the money for the push car I had it balled up in my purse and I was holding Evan on my hip so I just handed her the wad of cash, and she drove away, well she had to turn around because she didn't have all the money. Somehow the twenty dollar bill came apart from the wad, so embarrassing. I had quite the night. But all turned well. :-)
