50 weeks old

September 2 -September 8

Oh Gosh, I can't believe how close it is to Evan's birthday. It is on my mind everyday now. I looked back at some of his baby videos and what a cute little peep he was!!! He is still cute, but he is growing into such a big boy now, soon he'll be my little toddler...I still remember when he did stomach crunches because he couldn't sit up, he just laid flat on his back all the time, things sure have changed in a short amount of time.

Thursday night we went to Nana & Grandpa's for dinner (Grandpa's b-day) and we ate pizza and played. Nana's living room turns into Evan's play place. He plays with some toys that used to be daddys and Uncle Mike's! Watching Evan play is so funny, he just bounces from one thing to the next. One of his faves at Nana's is beach balls! We can't have beach balls at home because of a certain dog we own named Rusty, but Evan loves the beach balls, and then every 10 seconds he has to find a stuffed animal to hug. So precious, he has plenty of hugs for all the stuffed animals and shares his love!

So Evan on Friday morning was in the bathroom with me while I was putting on some makeup before work and he likes to play with the cabinets and pull out towels and things and open and close the doors. Well anyways he stands up at the bathroom door opens it and yells something out and then closes it quick! And again opened it, yelled, something in Everish language and then closed the door again! He is a riot! We have been playing peek a boo with each other and the doors though, so I think he got it from that. Usually we are on opposite sides of the door and I pretend like I am knocking or want to come in and he shuts the door in my face and laughs about it! Cause you know that is funny!

Then later Friday night Evan got the giggles of course right before bed. He was making this throat gurgling noise and then I made it to him once and he cracked up laughing and then he would do it and have a fit of hysterical laughing over it. So we made the noise back and forth for a while. I don't care if it is bedtime, I'd rather spend five minutes having a giggle-fest too!

And Evan has been standing up a few time for only a few seconds without holding onto anything. It is only a matter of time.

Here is a video I was trying to get of Evan hugging his stuffed animals but instead he decided to get all up in the camera's business!

And another video of Evan opening the baby gate and teasing Apple!

yes Evan falling

and going right back to do it again! apparently it was fun!

woof-woof

Hilarious!!! and he was utterly please with himself! These are from Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon in the pool!

Evan trying to smile with food in his mouth! Sunday before we went on our adventure!
chewing, lol...

We finally went to Butterfly World! Yay! I had been dying to go for months now (since Evan began his love of birds!) And since daddy is going out of town next weekend we decided to something extra fun this weekend! It was so HOT!!!! But there were still tons of people there! And tons of people with kids Evan's age. Ev was dripping sweat, but it is a fairly shady place. We had a great time!

Dan feeding the birdies! Evan wanted to pet them and didn't understand they weren't nice like Gizmo (Grammie and Poppie's bird).

Me and Evan watched
two "mini-birds" this is what I told Evan they were
butterfly
tiny hummingbird
Evan was amazed by the butterflies when we first got there, he didn't know what to think.
The only photo I have of all three of us. I took it.

Evan on Sunday evening after a haircut playing with his new drum. An early birthday present from his mommy and daddy! xoxo I told Evan a few more haircuts and I will be well-practiced! So I figure about 5 more or so and I should be a pro right? So we got this music set below at Target (where else?) and in the toy section they have this new electronic toy called "big foot" and they have one in a display case so you can hear and watch what he does, so of course I pushed the button. Well the thing was really scary!-the display box it was in was way too small for it and it banged on the plastic case and did a flip and talks in a deep voice, so Evan is watching it and he looks really confused like just frowning at it. So I push the button again, and the "thing" comes to life for a second time and Evan starts crying and hanging on me, so I have to wheel him off as fast as possible, poor kiddo!

Evan understands what we say very well now, especially the small little phrases we say to him that he is familiar with. But he also is very aware of the tone of conversations going on around him. He has started mumbling some things that we aren't really 100% sure, but on the right is what I think he says, I could be waaay wrong though. I try to pay attention to what he is trying to tell me, he tries very hard to communicate and mimic us, most of it sounds like what I affectionately call the "Everish" language which is gibberish basically.

Monday (Labor Day) mommy, Evan, and Grammie went to Splash Adventure (finally...) and we had so much fun!

I think I scared Evan though with the waterslide rides, he was NOT a fan. Anything where water gets in his face he is not a fan.

peek at you! peek a boo!

This is the only thing Evan likes to play with at Splasg Adevnture!
We basically just sit here the whole time!-yep we hog that red water tray!
