Thursday September 16th!!
Evan was born on Thursday, technically tomorrow is his birthday though September 17th, 2009!
52 weeks! 12 months old! One Year Old!!!
I am so excited! I feel like I am not going to be able to fall asleep because I am just soooo excited!!! Last year at this time I think I was praying that I could get my epidural soon. I was doing laps around the hospital floor holding onto my IV pole and a cup of crushed ice while Dan and my mom walked with me. And every time we'd pass the nursery, I'd be like awwwww!!! I was just bursting with excitement, it truly was the most exciting day of my life- the day my water broke. I was under the impression that once your water broke the baby would come out pretty fast. I just couldn't wait to see my son face to face!!! And when I finally got to meet him, it was just like "wow!" I couldn't believe he was who was in there! He was so tiny, so much smaller than I imagined, with a little peach fuzz forehead and just the most precious little grunty demeanor! But at the same time I felt like, of course it's you, who else? And now he is so big, such a big boy! They change so much in the first year and it has flown by, like every mom told me it would! His first birthday is going to be amazing!!! We have had such a great year and done tons of amazing things! Watching Evan grow this first year has been incredible! I have been trying to hang on to every little moment and capture every little detail and take millions of photos. Every night Dan and I trade notes on some little new thing we saw him do that we thought was amusing. Like tonight I was checking my email, Dan had gone to pick up Subway and Evan was in the kitchen, I saw him playing with the cereal boxes, but I am kinda relaxed about those kind of messes, so I let him be, then I look up and he has indeed opened the box and is helping himself to a snack! I guess he was hungry being that it was dinnertime and all. It was so cute!
There are always a ton of different little Evan antics that change everyday, they hard to keep up with, but I hope that so far the blog has been fun to read. I really wanted to have this great record of Evan's life for himself and also for us too. I asked Dan the other day, "do you think by the time Evan is a grown man the internet and the blog will still be there?" oh gosh!
So now that he is 52 weeks, I will not be posting weekly anymore, don't you think it will get a bit ridiculous to keep counting his age in weeks for the rest of his life? So, I decided I will be posting bi-monthly. So 12 months and 12.5 months and 13 months and so forth.
Evan opening a card from his great-grandparents in Ohio. He got money, I think he has some big plans for it too!
And here is a little b-day info about people born on Thursdays and Virgos. A person born on Thursday is always talking first, interrupting everyone else, can be a little aggressive, tends to be handsome, but has a decent overall character, with an excellent memory, and desire to help other people. The book said their tree is the banyan, the bird the peacock, and the animals are lion and tiger. And the only thing I really know about Virgo's is that they are perfectionists who are into healthy living or medical things, but are creative in an intellectual way, if that makes any sense to anyone. So far I personally think (might be a little biased) that Evan is extremely bright and loves learning, he seems like he is thoughtful and has lots of ideas, he is patient to a certain point, seems pretty easygoing and goes with the flow, and is so incredibly loving and generous!
We love our little man!!! so-so much. Words cannot even express... Evan is sleeping peacefully in his crib and now it is time for me to get myself to bed too! Tomorrow is his birthday, tomorrow he'll be one year old!!! And I will be the mom of a one year old!
